We would like to inform you about the update to the OK biobased certification scheme. We are pleased to inform you that Novo-Pak certification qualified for the newly introduced Class 5 (97–100% biobased carbon content) under the updated OK biobased scheme. This is a significant accomplishment and demonstrates your strong commitment to sustainability and innovation.
The OK biobased scheme was first introduced 15 years ago and has now been revised to reflect today’s market requirements. The update improves transparency of claims in line with the European Directive 2024/825 on empowering consumer for the green transition, provides clearer differentiation between end-of-life options and material origins, and responds to market demand for greater visibility of products with high biobased content.
What’s new?
• A fifth class for biobased content has been introduced to provide greater visibility for products with very high biobased carbon content (97-100%).
• The previous star system has been translated into ranges corresponding to the existing classes.
