The aim of the project is to develop an extended technology of biodegradable, specialized packaging for packaging using polylactide.
The project was created, among others, on the basis of the results of research and development works purchased from the COBRO Packaging Research Institute in Warsaw, as well as the own experience (know-how) of the team that will implement the project. The production of biodegradable packaging for cosmetics from polylactide will be an absolute innovation on the Polish market. PLA packaging is produced abroad and is not used in Poland due to, among others, the significant cost of transport, as well as the lack of appropriate technological knowledge in the field of processing this material by injection molding. PLA packaging is biodegradable in composting conditions, so it does not require expensive recovery. Additionally, it is an absolute hit on the world markets in recent years. Considering the aspect of environmental protection, consumers increasingly declare that it is very important for the product and its packaging to be pro-ecological. The results of the Project will contribute to reducing negative environmental effects through: the use of low-waste and zero-waste technology, the use of solutions that guarantee a reduction in the amount of pollutants released into the atmosphere, the use of a material that is completely safe for human health and living organisms; using a material with zero penetration into the substance contained in the packaging, a material that does not require thermal transformation causing air pollution, which replaces, and therefore affects the lower production of polymer materials that have been in the environment for hundreds of years. The project will additionally contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. In Poland, there is practically no mastered technology for processing PLA packaging using the injection method on an industrial scale. The project concerns product innovation with elements of modifying the injection process and coloring of finished products.
